Riding to School

Missile rode to school this morning by himself! I snuck out behind him and followed, but stayed far back. I can't believe how mature and responsible he is most times.

Third Grader?! What?!

I can't believe it. Maximus is in third grade. All the years prior to this he hugged and kissed me before walking into school...now? He didn't even look back. I cried. My baby with long curly red hair, a late kid to potty training and a wild child with a significant speech delay walked boldly into Mountainview Elementary with his buddies and never looked back at his parents, who stood on the playground hoping he would. He got the backpack he wanted, some new Penguin high tops, the right shorts and socks. You're a stud, our son. We couldn't be more proud of you.

Ingrid loves her room. She lays on her bed and writes in a little tablet. She's so precious!

June knows where to wait each afternoon when it's time to pick up Missile. All the kids come out and pet her and she sits and waits for him.

Bedtime snuggles are the best! I'd rather snuggle my kids on a Saturday night more than anything else!

Take your kid to work day! Jesse is finally in his office and not traveling, so he could finally take Maximus! Maximus was thrilled and Jesse's company made a big deal out of it for all the kids.

He went into the mechanical shop of Kenny Electric and made a bunch of metal bugs!

Ingrid stayed with me and we went to the gym, did laundry, some yard work, grocery shopped and made dinner.

And behold! Spring has sprung here in Denver!

Biggie's Bloodwork

We've been sick to our stomachs with worry over this girl. Her blood work has been all over the place and finally, she's okay. Yesterday she went to The Childrens Hospital and she's fine from a hematology/oncology perspective. She was scared but she was very brave!

She's been very tired and clingy.

She holds onto her brother at the gym when I'm working out.

So many doctor appointments!

But Maximus is by her side when he can be.

He even helps her out at home!

I took Ingrid and her friend Rory to an indoor bounce house place and then out for burgers this afternoon. Think they loved it?

Yesterday the Missile got another temporary cast and June is learning how to love him when he's hurt just like May did.

Snow and Broken Bones

So Maximus broke his wrist at school yesterday in two places. And we got a little snow this morning. Enough to shut down all schools in Denver, the mail, most businesses, I-25 and many, many roads. Of course we bundled up and went to the gym.
This is poor Missile at school in the nurses office. I took him to the ER right away.

Temporary cast until tomorrow's permanent one.

This was the snow we got in just five hours. It hasn't stopped and won't until tonight.

This is a four lane road shut down to just one.

But hey! No one was at the gym this morning so I had the whole place to myself!

Ingrid is FOUR!

Say what? Four! Biggie is the size of a two year old and acts like she's 14. Happy birthday, Ingrid Gladys!

She wanted a princess party and this is her new pretty dress!

But on the actual day of her birthday, she asked that we go have sushi and of course, we jumped all over that!

I made her class some cupcakes for her birthday and it was swim day. She was exhausted.

Rory, Ingrid, Addison and Lucille.

Her pretty Whole Foods cake!

Snow!

I love when it storms. We just got about 14 inches and it was absolutely beautiful! It was a snow day at school, so we got together with some friends and went sledding!

GO BRONCOS!!!

With the Super Bowl coming up, the people of Colorado are going nuts. Each Friday, the first couple hundred people at King Soopers (grocery store) get a limited edition magnet. Yes, Jesse went to one location at 6am while Ingrid and I went to another one at 7am. We got our magnets though!

The Missile is 8!

This kid is the big 8 today! With all the ups and downs, I'm so grateful to be the mother to a very passionate, insightful, kind, intelligent, strong willed and loving son. He had his birthday party with 15 buddies on Saturday. Today he got a new skateboard and gets to go out to his favorite Mongolian restaurant for dinner. Go Maximissile! Let's make 8 great!
